What is Ayurveda?

Literally translating to ‘the knowledge of life’, Ayurveda is the mother of all healing systems.

Ayurveda is the oldest system of medicine and health care in the world. Dating back over 5000 years, its teachings and healing powers are as relevant to modern Western society as it was to its native ancient India.

Turmeric, Ginger and Chamomile are amongst the many herbs that ancient civilisations discovered and utilised in their healing practices which are now widely used in modern medicine.

Ayurveda’s core philosophy? That optimum health and vitality cannot be achieved purely through healing the physical level – we are not machines. We live simultaneously on emotional, physical and spiritual planes.

We are multidimensional beings.

Treating a symptom on just the physical level may provide some short term relief, but will not heal the root of the problem, nor provide a pathway for optimum health. Like papering over the cracks, the problem is not solved and will eventually manifest in other areas of the body, affecting your physical, emotional and spiritual balance.

To create total health and wellbeing, we must permeate every level. Only then can we heal the whole self; mind, body and spirit.

Therein lies the power of Marmapuncture.

What is a Marma?

Anatomically speaking, ‘marmas’ or ‘marma points’ are sites on the skin formed by the meeting of muscle, veins, ligaments, bones and joints.

Ayurvedically speaking, they are energy points. Gateways to communicating with the mind, body and spirit.

What does marmapuncture involve?

Marmapuncture or Ayurvedic Acupuncture is a deeply relaxing, ancient and powerful system of healing.

Fine, single-use, disposable needles are used to stimulate marma points across the body to access and harmonise the physical, emotional and spiritual levels of the human body.

Marmapuncture has the power to instantly relieve symptoms of imbalance within the mind, body and spirit, prevent the development and invasion of symptoms into other areas of the body, and restore and maintain optimum health across the physical, emotional and spiritual planes.

Pre-dating the more commonly known acupuncture of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Marmapuncture has been used for centuries across Asia to heal symptoms of disease, aid the natural cycles of fertility, postpartum and menopause, and create equilibrium and harmony in the body for the best possible quality of life.

Modern marmapuncture harnesses ancient wisdom from both Ayurvedic and TCM systems of healing, simultaneously stimulating both marma points and TCM acupoints to achieve a truly unique therapy that offers incredibly powerful results.
