WELCOME TO MY WORLD!

I'm so glad you're here...

This picture was taken in Barcelona, it’s a few years old, but it remains special to me as it marks a pivotal point in my life’s journey. It’s only now, looking backwards, I can appreciate the metamorphosis I was undergoing. Here is my story, whether it brings you comfort, a sense of relief or simply allows you to know me better, I hope you enjoy it.

A little about me...

I’m Jen, a lover of travel, foraging, music, good food, excellent conversation, and most of all, my little ray of sunshine, my daughter Willoughby. I found my way to Marmapuncture through a series of unlikely twists and turns and I’ve now made it my life’s mission to help people in need through the incredible healing powers of Ayurveda. This is my story.

Nearly a decade ago, I experienced an epic and somewhat premature mid-life crisis.

I had fallen out of love with London, which came as a surprise having been immersed in the ebb and flow of city life for over a decade.

My relationship with my corporate career was…complicated. Dust gathered on my piano and violin – instruments that had once brought me so much joy – and my relationship with my husband also fell into chaos. We had only been married a few months.

Following a diagnosis of PCOS, HPV CIN3 and a series of invasive and painful uterine procedures, I was told that it would be impossible for me to conceive naturally (we had been trying for a baby for years). We moved out of London in pursuit of a rural environment and a different pace of life, but nothing seemed to help.

My mind and body no longer felt like my own, and along with large parts of my womb lining, I lost my sense of self.

Feeling at a complete loss of where to turn...

A fiercely caring friend booked me an appointment with a Buddhist therapist. It was in these sessions that I learnt the power of meditation and found myself on a journey of holistic health discovery. Through Buddhist counsel, I was introduced to Ayurveda and eventually, Marmapuncture therapy.

I was fortunate enough to be living within driving distance from the legendary Dr. Shantha Godagama, a leading pioneer of Ayurveda in the UK. I sought treatment with him, and after 5 months, I fell pregnant with my daughter, Willoughby.

It was during these early sessions and after confiding in him about losing my sense of purpose, that he said to me:

I spent the next year and a half retraining...

simultaneously learning TCM with his incredible and highly regarded daughter, Dr. Simi Godagama. It came so naturally to me, and tied in so beautifully with my background in foraging, taking instructions from our environment, the five elements and the seasons.

Through marmapuncture therapy, I was able to rediscover my childhood love of the natural world and was finally able to heal my mind, body and soul.

I had not only found my purpose, but for the first time in my life, felt empowered that I could change any negative symptoms manifesting in my body. I have undergone a fundamental shift in my perception of how I live my life, adopting holistic medicine practices to support me every step of the way.
